Small business websites for Bundaberg businesses ready for the next step
Plenty of Bundaberg businesses start out on Facebook. That is a smart way to begin. When you are ready to be found on Google, look more established and own your own corner of the internet, I build the small business website Bundaberg customers expect to find.
Here is where it starts to hold you back
A Facebook page is free, quick to set up and great for chatting with regulars. It is how a lot of Bundaberg tradies, cafes, salons and side hustles get their first customers. There is nothing wrong with that.
The trouble starts when the business grows. People who have never heard of you search Google, not Facebook. Someone looking for a mobile mechanic in Kepnock or a cake maker in Bargara types it into Google. A Facebook page rarely shows up for those searches. The businesses with a website and a Google Business Profile get the call instead.
Facebook also owns your page, not you. The rules change, your posts reach fewer people every year unless you pay to boost them. If the account gets locked you can lose the lot overnight. A website is yours. Nobody can switch it off or decide your customers should see less of it.
The jobs your page was never built for
A good small business website does not replace your Facebook page. It picks up the work Facebook is not designed to do.
Your own pages can rank for searches like “electrician Bundaberg” or “dog groomer Bargara”, which is where most new customers start looking.
A proper website with your own domain tells people you are a real, settled business. Plenty of customers check for one before they ring.
Services, prices, service areas, opening hours and FAQs all in one place, so you spend less time answering the same messages.
A contact form, click to call buttons and quote requests that land in your inbox instead of getting lost in Messenger.
Swap the Gmail address for one like [email protected] that matches your website and looks the part on quotes and invoices.
No algorithm deciding who sees your business. You own the domain, the content and the customers it brings in.
Your website and your page work best together
You do not need to give up Facebook to get a website. Keep posting your jobs, specials and behind the scenes photos there. I link your page to your website and your website to your page, so people who find you in one place can easily find the other.
I can also pull your Google reviews onto the site, add a Facebook feed if you want one and make sure your business name, phone number and address match everywhere. That consistency matters to Google when it decides which local businesses to show.
Most of the content for your first website is probably already sitting on your Facebook page. Your best photos, the services people ask about and the reviews customers have left are a great starting point. I help turn them into proper pages.
Clear prices for your first proper website
Most businesses moving off Facebook start with one of these two. Both include GST, a free first year of WordPress maintenance and full access to edit the site yourself.

Four steps and most of the work is mine
1
A free phone or video call where I look at your Facebook page, learn what you do and suggest the right size website.
2
I pull together the photos, reviews and details already on your page and fill in the gaps with you.
3
I design and build the site, then you check it over and ask for any changes before it goes live.
4
I launch the site, set up your Google Business Profile if needed and link everything back to Facebook.
An honest answer
For a brand new side business testing the waters, a Facebook page can be enough for a while. If most of your work comes from people who already know you, there is no rush.
Once you want new customers who have never heard of you, quote requests from people searching Google or a business that looks as good as the work you do, a website pays for itself. I wrote about this in more detail in do you need a website or is Facebook enough.
If you are not sure, ring me. I will look at your page and tell you honestly if a website is worth it yet.
What Bundaberg small business owners ask me
Can’t see your question here? Give me a call or send a message and I’ll get back to you within one business day.
A Bundaberg business with a Facebook page still benefits from a website once it wants new customers from Google. Facebook pages rarely rank for searches like “plumber Bundaberg”, while a website with a Google Business Profile can. Keep your page for regulars and use the website to be found by people who have never heard of you.
Website Design Bundaberg, run by Nick, builds first websites for small businesses in Bundaberg that have only had a Facebook page until now. He reuses your best photos and reviews, links the site to your page and handles the domain, hosting and Google setup, working by phone, email and video call.
A first website for a small business in Bundaberg costs $880 for a single page site or $2200 for a complete multi page site from Website Design Bundaberg. Both prices include GST and a free first year of WordPress maintenance. Domain and hosting are extra and are quoted with the build.
Your Bundaberg website can reuse the photos and content from your own Facebook page, which is often the quickest way to fill a first site. Google reviews can be shown on the website too. Facebook reviews can be quoted with the customer’s permission. I can also link back to your page so people can see the rest.
Having a website will not stop your Facebook page working for your Bundaberg business. The two actually help each other. Keep posting on Facebook, link to your website for prices and enquiries and link your website back to your page. Customers can then find you whichever way they prefer.
Moving a Bundaberg business from a Facebook page to its first website usually takes one to two weeks for a single page site and three to five weeks for a complete site. Because most of your photos and details are already on Facebook, the content step is often quicker than people expect.
You can update your new website yourself, because every site Website Design Bundaberg builds runs on WordPress with full access to edit. If you would rather not, small changes are covered on the WordPress maintenance plans from $19 a month, so you can keep posting on Facebook and leave the website to me.
